Looking Ahead: A New Year of Adventures, Growth, and Contentment

January always feels like a reset button—a moment when the world collectively pauses, exhales, and starts imagining what the next twelve months could hold. For me, this year’s reflection came with a bit of enforced stillness. After a minor hand surgery last week, I suddenly had something I don’t usually give myself: time. Time to rest, time to think, and time to ask myself the questions I often rush past.

What am I looking forward to this year?

What goals am I setting for myself—both personally and professionally?

As I sat with those questions, a few themes rose to the surface.

Adventures on the Horizon

A Virgin Voyages First in February

One of the experiences I’m most excited about is my very first Virgin Voyages cruise next month. I’ll be touring the ship, soaking in the brand’s signature style, and diving into everything that makes this cruise line stand out. A full review will be coming to the blog, and I’ll be sharing the journey in real time over on Instagram—so stay tuned for plenty of photos and impressions from onboard.

A Year of Gaming Gatherings

Travel isn’t always about crossing oceans—sometimes it’s about reconnecting with your people.

This spring brings a weekend gaming adventure back in my hometown, a tradition that always fills my cup. Then in June, I’ll be heading to Origins Game Fair, where I’ll be playing in the Catan Masters Tournament. It’s equal parts thrilling and nerve‑wracking, and I can’t wait.

Exploring More of the World

Of course, the wanderlust never stops. I’m carving out space this year to explore more corners of the world—new cultures, new foods, new stories to bring back to my clients and readers.

A Milestone Birthday

Somehow, this is also the year I turn 50. I’m choosing to see it not as a marker of age, but as a celebration of everything I’ve experienced so far—and everything still waiting for me.

New Partnerships, New Possibilities

I’m also excited to collaborate with new travel partners who share my passion for crafting extraordinary, meaningful journeys. These relationships help me bring even more unique experiences to the travelers I serve.

Goals for the Year

Growing Everyday Explorers Travel

This year, I’m focused on expanding my business in ways that feel intentional and aligned. That means helping more people turn their travel dreams into reality and continuing to refine how I show up online—especially on social media, where so many travelers begin imagining their next adventure.

My Word of the Year: Contentment

Every year, I choose a word to guide me. This time, the word that kept rising to the surface was contentment. Not complacency, not settling—contentment.

A sense of groundedness.

A feeling of enoughness.

A reminder to savor the present even as I build toward the future.

I’m still exploring what contentment looks like in my personal life and how it can shape the way I run my business. But I’m excited to find out.

Here’s to the Journey Ahead

If this quiet January reflection has taught me anything, it’s that the year ahead is full of possibility. Adventures big and small. Growth that feels meaningful. Partnerships that inspire. And a commitment to finding contentment along the way.

I can’t wait to take you with me.
